Back from the US

I went to visit my family at Georgia, USA and must tell that it was a great trip. The most important thing was my whole family being there, they came from all over the US to Georgia, specifically to my uncle's house. 11 people in a house, can you imagine the kitchen? Ha!
Well, that was the last week, I stayed there two whole months. We visited Rock City and Ruby Falls, a couple of attractions of Georgia that were close to the house.
I spent most of the time playing videogames as there were nothing else to do. The last three weeks were the best: We went on vacation (vacations within vacations huh?) to South Beach, Miami. We stayed at the Riande Hotel, which was cheap enough not to waste my uncle's wallet. Fun at the pool, at the beach, getting a tan, putting my swimming classes on trial...
I spent the next week reading this 600 pages book, East of Eden, very very good, I recall I saw a movie of it once, at least I recall fliping through the channels and seeing a train with rotten lettuces (wtf? I thought to myself back then).
The last week of my stay was spent with the arrival of my parents, brothers, sisters, everyone! giving it a nice closing touch. They went back to their homes the same day I left with my grandmother back to Perú.
My father is annoying as always but in slighty different ways, very slight, so now you can laugh at his annoying-ness instead of damaging your liver. Anyway, he seemed very happy of having all the brothers, and sister, together.
But happier was his wife, we had a lot of fun when she started recalling old times and all the crazy stuff we did when we were kids. She also took advantage of the little time to give as much advice as possible to us.
My younger brother (well I'm the oldest so...), Richard, stunned me when I saw him, not only was his voice deeper but he was double my size, damn now I'll have to play catch up at the gym. Despite he is still a jerk :) he has shown he is trying to control himself, at certain points he managed to control completely and be nice to talk to!
Karen, my sister, hasn't changed, I think she lost a few pounds, so now she looks a lil bit overweight but normal. Last time she was more on the overweight side of the balance so that's good news. She was also extremely happy of the meeting and couldn't stop taking photos for her myspace. She almost convinced me of creating one, I might, I can upload pictures there. She decided to change my look, and so she did, at least for a couple days, she chose the clothes, how to wear them, and did my hair.
My other brothers, Toño (Tony) and Diego are so fucking changed! Diego is very tall and now his voice very, very deep. However his personality hasn't changed much -a good thing, he's still calm and educated, that doesn't mean he's introverted... at all. Something that amused me (and my sister) is that he also meditates, something she thought only I did. Guess who also meditates, or at least tries to, Richard. My mother seems to have genetically passed that onto us, because although she has meditated since always she has never done it in front of us, if it wasn't because she told me I would have never known!
Toño's personality has changed a lot, he used to be very capricious and made a big scandal when things didn't go his way. Now he seems to have learned from Diego, all that energy now he uses on skating, a hobby he shares with Diego and Omar, my cousin. He's the best of the three but that comes at the cost that he has a lot of fracture-problems, that I didn't like to hear. He looks extremely confident of himself. Ah, now I recall the word, determined, he looks very determined.
Among the new goals set I have to go the gym head-on to gain about 20 pounds, that's the deal I made with my sister, she's going to lose those 20 pounds. Although we didn't get him to accept the deal, Richard, my brother should learn to control his temper better :)
Managed to write a lot, cool.
Escapa!

Another game I had the pleasure to play. On this one you must control a red block with your mouse, so it doesn't get hit by the blue blocks while not getting out of the level, the white zone.
Not the greatest thing graphics wise, duh, it is supposed to be addictive and it is. The title is spanish for Escape! for those not keen enough to get it.
Not on the first, but without practice, managed to get a bit over 36 seconds. After some training got 45-66, and after a lot of training (after about 100 games) got 92.843s and I'm happy with that result, although it wasn't so fast so that 100 or even more was impossible.
You should try to beat my time :)

Thinking on buying a domain...

...and hosting a site on my PC. The only real problem with that is noise..., this fan is noisy and I want to sleep to my fullest =D
The site is my html/css/hobbies site that I did like 6 months ago (and I talked about on a previous blog), maybe even more... I lost track of the time. I think I didn't make it go live because I hadn't finished some things, like an automated gallery, but hell I don't have many pics to put on a gallery, maybe if I had a digital camera, if I took pictures...
On other news, I've found out my speakers double as mics. My friend asked me to help him test his mic over MSN and freaked me out by telling me what I was doing, I quickly realized my comp was recording audio but I just couldn't believe the speakers had a micro incorporated -nicely hidden, I didn't know of their existence the last 5 years I've had this PC.
Well, those mics have been a huge help on improving my AWFUL singing skills, now I can say I have one song that I do quite well, I just need to practice more to be able to modulate my voice and not suck at every other song out there.
You know, you set the Recording options to mic and plug your earphones (so the speakers don't play back what they are recording). Then open your audio recorder and start singing thinking you are doing great, when you are done you play it at a high volume and listen to what really your voice sounds to just everyone else (with the headphones..., you don't want vegs, bricks and cats flying towards your window). Then you can do it again and again trying to do it better.
Oh well, let's try again.
So True

True stories from a foreign teacher in Japan, well sort of. He has really made me want to join the JET.
The "Oh shit something's coming!" Sense is soooo true, isn't it? ;o
